Abstract

The present invention relates to a packaged product, particularly the invention relates to a packaged toothpaste composition which is packaged in a recyclable plastic-based laminate tube. The present inventors found that when a toothpaste composition comprising a fluoride ion source is packaged in a laminate tube having a multilayer laminate structure according to the present invention, it provides for stably incorporating the fluoride ion source which is also retained in the composition for prolonged period at varying storage conditions. It is surprisingly found that when the toothpaste composition comprising a fluoride ion source is packaged in a laminate tube having a multilayer laminate structure according to the present invention, the fluoride ion adsorption by the laminate is minimized.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a packaged product, particularly the invention relates to a packaged toothpaste composition which is packaged in a recyclable plastic-based laminate tube. The present inventors have found that a packaged product having a toothpaste composition with specific amount of sodium ion source when packaged in a plastic-based laminate tube having a multilayer laminate structure according to the present invention has surprisingly good chemical and physical stability and desirable consumer-relevant properties (such as desirable viscosity and yield stress) and also has good flavour performance. It was further found that the toothpaste composition having sodium ion source and packaged in a plastic-based laminate tubes maintains acceptable cleaning ability and physical stability.

Abstract

The present invention relates to fabric conditioner compositions. Fabric conditioner compositions deliver softening and a fragrance to fabrics in the rinse stage of the laundry process. Fragrance is an important aspect of the laundry process, consumers desire that laundered fabrics smell nice, indicating that they are clean. It has been found that the inclusion of a glucamide surfactant increases the amount of perfume in the headspace above wet fabric.

Abstract

A method for determining one or more mechanical property of a hair fibre comprising: i. identifying the level of a keratin associated protein in a hair fibre by one or more of the following approaches: a) Direct measurement of protein concentrations in hair fibres; and / or b) Measurement of protein expression in the hair follicle / scalp; and / or c) Measurement of gene expression in the hair follicle / scalp; ii. determining one or more physical properties of the keratin associated protein, the physical properties of the protein selected from the group of the Young's modulus, the radius of gyration, the solvent accessible surface area, the hydration-dependent protein glass transition temperature and/or the water sorption capacity; iii. based on the physical properties of the keratin associated protein and the level of the keratin associated protein, predicting one or more mechanical properties of the hair fibre.

Abstract

The present invention relates to an antimicrobial composition, more particularly a liquid composition that is not harsh on the surfaces being cleaned. This invention is especially useful in killing both gram positive as well as gram negative bacteria both of which can cause health problems. This is achieved by combining an amino acid surfactant with an alkanediol and a chelating agent, none of which in themselves have any significant antimicrobial efficacy.

Abstract

The present invention is in the field of cleaning composition. Particularly it relates to a unit dose laundry article having a cleaning ingredient for providing improved cleaning performance. There is hence a need to provide a 'eco-friendly' detergent product in the form of a flexible solid laundry article, which provides cleaning efficacy at par with conventional detergent composition, is easy to use without impacting the dissolution profile of the article. The present invention provides a flexible solid unit dose laundry article comprising a cleaning ingredient, water soluble polymer and a water-insoluble disintegrant that provides improved cleaning performance. The flexible solid laundry article is 'eco-friendly' and dissolves quickly in water yet does not stick to each other during storage and is easy to use.

Abstract

The present invention relates to delivering bioactives on to skin through a personal cleansing composition. It more particularly relates to the surprising finding that an active like ketostearic is deposited in much higher amounts as compared to other fatty acids acid of similar type. Unlike those fatty acids, the present invention ensures that there is no compromise on sensory benefit like acceptable viscosity. This is achieved by incorporating ketostearic acid in a cleansing composition comprising a synthetic anionic surfactant.

Abstract

A pivotable disc top closure suitable for shipping in e-commerce as well as easy day-to day use by the consumer. The pivotable disc lid of the closure includes one or more depending rib(s) which is/are positioned to contact a beam extending upwardly from the closure base when the lid is subjected to pressure/force during shipping. This prevents the lid from pivoting open if it is subjected to moderate force during shipping or otherwise. When the consumer wishes to open the lid, she imposes strong pressure on the lid which causes the rib(s) to non-resiliently deform the beam. Because the beam is non-resiliently deformed, subsequent openings can be accomplished more easily during day to day use. The confronting surfaces of the beam and the rib(s) have angles to the horizontal of 15 to 35 degrees which permit the surfaces to slide past each other so that the rib(s) can deform the beam.

Abstract

The invention is directed to a dilutable concentrate composition. The composition is pourable, suitable for pod packaging, easy to dilute, and substantially free of sulfate-based surfactants. The surfactants used include an anionic saccharide-based surfactant and an amphoteric surfactant, zwitterionic surfactant or both. The dilutable concentrate composition after dilution results in a stable lamellar wash composition having a viscosity that is higher than the concentrate it is prepared from. The dilutable concentrate composition can be used in small volumes on demand or can be diluted with water in refill packaging to ensure a reduction in plastic waste.

Abstract

The present invention relates to hair care compositions for conditioning hair, in particular hair care compositions providing conditioning to hair without the use of silicones. Despite the apparent effects in making hair look full and shiny, conditioning formulations that contain silicone-based conditioning agents raise concerns among consumers. There remains a need to provide compositions which can provide superior conditioning performance in a sustainable manner. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a hair conditioning composition that provides superior conditioning performance without the use of silicones. It has been found that the conditioning performance of a conditioning oil such as mineral oils, vegetable oils etc can be improved by providing a conditioning system comprising the conditioning oil and an acrylate polymer with side chains having a specific carbon chain length and particular thermal properties.

Abstract

The present invention relates to hair care compositions for conditioning hair, in particular hair care compositions providing conditioning to hair without the use of silicones. Despite the apparent effects in making hair look full and shiny, conditioning formulations that contain silicone-based conditioning agents raise concerns among consumers. There remains a need to provide compositions which can provide superior conditioning performance in a sustainable manner in particular friction reduction performance at comparable levels to that provided with silicones but without the use of silicones. It has been found that when a quaternary ammonium surfactant of structure 1 is used in a hair care composition with a silicone-free conditioning oil, a synergistic improvement in friction reduction is seen.

Abstract

The invention relates to a personal care composition, more particularly to a composition for application to a topical surface, underarm surface or an oral surface of a human or animal that prevents or reduces malodour. The composition could be delivered in the form of a skin, care product. The present inventors have found that when a zinc and an activator combination is present in a personal care composition it provides for preventing and reducing the malodour for extended periods of time.

Abstract

The present invention relates to the flexible packaging material, it particularly relates to a multilayered extrusion laminated polyethylene structure which are recyclable. It is desired to provide a flexible multilayered PE laminate which is suitable for packaging even higher volumes while providing desired stiffness and providing improved impact strength without the requirement for increasing the thickness of the multilayered laminate. The present inventors have found that a multilayered laminate having a blown PE film extrusion laminated with a blown PE sealant layer and having a sandwiched PE extrusion layer provides for high stiffness and also has good impact strength.
