DEVICE AND METHODS FOR MEASURING LONG STEM CONTENT IN TOBACCO STEM
A device for measuring long stem content in a tobacco stem comprises the following components: a feed belt (1), a vibrating trough (8), an X-ray measurement belt (7), and a collection box (4). An X-ray source (2) is provided above the X-ray measurement belt (7). An X-ray detector (3) is provided below the X-ray measurement belt (7), and is connected to an industrial computer (6) via a network cable (5). Further included are two methods using said device to measure long stem content in a tobacco stem: an area-based method and an attenuation value-based method. The device has a simple structure, and the methods are simple and reliable, thus enabling quick, convenient, and accurate measurement of long stem content and short stem content in tobacco stems.
