POSITIVE HYDRAULIC DISPLACEMENT PUMP WITH MAGNETIC DRIVE
The present invention relates to a device that converts mechanical energy provided by a generator of external movement into hydraulic energy. This energy is used to displace a fluid through a pipe connected to flanges of the pump. The pump can be used in different areas in industry, such as the pharmaceutical, food, biomedical, agriculture, mechanical, construction, transport and mining industries, etc. This is because of its versatility for transferring mechanical energy to fluids of different viscosities, with dosing proportional to the angular displacement of the drive shaft. The movement of the movement generator is transferred inside the device by means of a rotor shaft with a single arrangement of magnetic elements provided with magnetic shields. The pump solves the technical problems involved in the use of mechanical seals, such as: contamination of working fluid; mechanical seal failure because of shaft misalignment, causing leaks; and mechanical seal failure because of contact face breakage, causing the fluid to leak to the exterior.

The present invention relates to a process implemented by a computer which comprises steps of precise securing, handling and mass measurement by atomic force microscopy (AFM or BioAFM), automatically, of the physical and mechanical properties of various types of samples such as cells or bacteria alone or interacting with nanoparticles, biomolecules and other types of carbon-based nanostructures such as graphene or synthetic particles. The process takes multiple measurements in a single sample that is arranged precisely and automatically continues the process with other samples. At the end, the working area continues with other areas making thousands of nano-indentations in a very short time in a reliable and reproducible manner in order to obtain mass data and obtain quantitative data on the physical-mechanical parameters, making it possible to confirm the measurement and representativeness of the type of material derived from the extraction of the mass physical and mechanical analysis thereof that is obtained from the statistical analysis.

The invention relates to an optical system designed and manufactured such as to detect and remove spines from nopal pads (Opuntia ficus-indica), by means of a device made up of an arrangement of at least one optical fibre, arranged on the longitudinal axis of a bar, which comprises at least one optical sensor at either end, which are connected to the control unit of the system, powered by a supply system and a laser for detecting the spines, preferably a low-power CW Nd:YAG laser, with a wavelength of 532 nm, which has a power of 10 to 500 mW, the light from said laser being guided through a set of movable mirrors onto the surface of the nopal, such as to scan the surface thereof; and a second high-power Nd:YAG laser, for removing the spines, which has a power of 100 W with a wavelength of 1064 nm reflected through the same positioning system, guaranteeing that the two beams of laser light arrive at the same point.
The invention relates to a device for determining the thickness of the epidermis, which is suitable for use in the biological sciences and is based on in vivo transmittance measurements. The structure of the device includes an arrangement of optical fibres, formed by a group of one or more fibres. The two groups of fibres are joined at one end with a characteristic distance equal to the diameter of the fibres, while, at the other end, the groups of fibres are separated, forming two independent groups, the design thereof being such that variations in the thickness of the stratum corneum of 400 μm are not taken into account. The diameters of the fibres are in the range of 100 to 600 μm. One group of fibres is used for lighting, said group being coupled to a visible light source, such as a halogen lamp, an LED or a diode laser, all of which are preferably red (610-670 nm), while the other group, intended for collection, is used to measure the signal transmitted, which signal is processed by a spectrometer.
The invention relates to an automated system for the recognition and control of the removal of spines from prickly pears (Opuntia ficus-indica) in real time, said system combining optical sensors, programmable devices and image-segmentation and -processing techniques. For this purpose, the system uses a telecentric lens placed on a moving belt on which a prickly pear leaf is moved and said lens forms an image on a CMOS optical sensor including an embedded processor which generates images of the prickly pear leaf in RGB format, said images being processed by a firmware. Using segmentation methods, the aforementioned firmware detects the position of the spines and generate a set of coordinates, in order subsequently to control an x, y scanning system, using a path optimisation algorithm, which system makes a pulsed Nd: YAG laser beam hit the spines in order to remove them from the surface of the prickly pear.
The invention relates to the industry involved in the manufacture of prosthesis apparatuses for the human body and, more specifically, to the industry involved in the manufacture of visual restoration aiding prostheses. The invention consists of an image encoding system for transcorneal stimulation, formed by a video camera, a processor with digital algorithms, and a device known as an electrical stimulator. The system is characterised in that the processor with digital algorithms receives the encoded image and produces a waveform therefrom, and each waveform produced represents the electrical equivalent of a pixel of the image that stimulates the eye. The waveform is established using the following equations: Polynomial. Start time. End time. MACHINE FOR LASER REMOVAL OF SPINES FROM PRICKLY PEARS
The invention relates to a machine designed to remove the spines from the green prickly pear (Opuntia ficus-indica) by means of the use of selective laser ablation techniques, which is characterized in that it comprises a laser guide system constituted by optical elements and a laser head that produces the laser beam for spine removal, said beam reaching the zone of incidence by means of the guide system and the scanning system; the latter is regulated by means of a system for detecting the position of the spines and a control system that has the dual purpose of halting the laser until the spine has been completely removed and issuing the order to continue the sweep until the next spine is detected, and reiterating the process, and also has a nozzle for extracting discarded spines in the form of a powder.
This invention comprises improved composting of cane sugar press mud and lignocellulosic materials. The result is a low density humectant substrate (SHBD) for use in agriculture. The process takes place in semi-static biopiles which are homogenized and aerated mechanically. The lignocellulose materials are added in a supplied batch system, in steps and doses which depend on the type of lignocellulosic material and the quality of the required final substrate. Another objective is to provide, within 8 weeks, a material without pathogenic microorganisms nor weeds, with low density (ឬ 0.4 g/ml), high porosity (110%), and high water retention (ᡶ 90%), useful as a substrate in horticulture and forestry production in nurseries and greenhouses; or as a humectant and soil-improving agent in agricultural land and eroded soils. Said substrate has better physical, chemical and biological features for plant nutrition than equivalent substrates uch as peat and coconut fibres.
The invention relates to a mould for creating specially-designed artificial roughness (18, 19) that is intended for the surface of structures and objects (10) which are submerged in a flow (12) and which are supported by, or buried in a soil that is liable to scour, such as bridge piers and piles, ducts and other elements. The artificial roughness, which is created during the casting of the structures, reduces both the intensity of the secondary flow at the leading edge and the intensity of the wake turbulence, thereby reducing the depth and volume of local scouring that can affect said structures.
