Abstract

Proposed are a method of preparing a metal nanostructure, which includes (a) preparing a first metal template whose surface is coated with a polymeric micelle containing an amphiphilic polymer and (b) causing the first metal template to react with a second metal ion through a galvanic replacement reaction, and a metal nanostructure prepared thereby. The amphiphilic polymer is used as a capping agent during the replacement reaction so that the micellar polymer is adsorbed onto the template, thereby selectively allowing the replacement reaction. Thus, unlike in existing technologies in which nanostructures having limited forms are prepared, nanostructures having a new two-dimensional structure, including nanostructures having a plurality of pores formed between nanoparticles, can be prepared. Additionally, a mixing ratio of two types of solvents that differ in polarity index is adjustable to control the size of the polymeric micelle, thereby changing the structural characteristics of a finally prepared metal nanostructure.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a metal nanostructure preparation method and a metal nanostructure prepared thereby, the method comprising the steps of: (a) preparing a first metal template surface-coated with a polymeric micelle comprising an amphiphilic polymer; and (b) performing a galvanic replacement reaction between the first metal template and a second metal ion. According to the present invention, an amphiphilic polymer is used as a capping agent during galvanic replacement reaction so as to adsorb a micellar polymer on a metal template, thereby allowing a galvanic replacement reaction to be selectively performed, and thus, unlike a nanostructure with a delimited shape, such as hollow nanoparticles, prepared through a conventional technique, a nanostructure having a new two-dimensional structure including a nanostructure having a lot of pores formed between nanoparticles can be prepared, and since the mixing ratio of two types of solvents having different polarity indices is adjusted to control the size of the polymeric micelle adsorbed on the template, the structural characteristics of a finally prepared metal nanostructure can be changed.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a composition comprising a defensin-derived decameric peptide as an active ingredient for prevention or treatment of sepsis and, more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition comprising the defensin-derived decameric peptide Pro10-1 or Pro10-1D as an active ingredient for prevention or treatment of sepsis or septic shock. In the present invention, Pro10-1 or Pro10-1D was identified to have an antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria. Particularly, with increased cationicity and decreased hydrophobicity given thereto, Pro10-1D, which has arginine (Arg) and D-amino acid conversion added at the N-terminus thereof, was identified to decrease in toxicity, have improved permeability to negatively charged bacterial membranes, and exhibit the effects of excellent antibacterial activity, resistance to proteinases, endotoxin neutralization/clearance, and biofilm formation inhibition. Furthermore, Pro10-1D was identified to exhibit a remarkable anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting TLR4 downstream, alleviate inflammatory insult in sepsis mouse models, and have a protective effect against organ dysfunction in sepsis mice. Thus, Pro10-1 or Pro10-1D of the present invention can find advantageous applications as a novel peptide antibiotic for effective treatment of sepsis or septic shock.

Compared to existing fermentation methods using microorganisms, the production method according to the present invention does not require cell growth and has a short synthetic pathway, a fast reaction rate, high yield and productivity, adjustment of targeted reaction conditions is convenient, and butanol may be effectively produced. Moreover, same may be reused numerous times by fixing the proteins to nano-particles, and are also effective for producing acetoin, butanediol, or butanol, thus being economical. Therefore, the production method may be usefully adopted in the relevant industries requiring acetoin, butanediol, or butanol.
