A topology aware distributed storage system includes a plurality of storage nodes, at least one client node, and a storage manager and metadata store. A user-defined storage policy specifies where data is stored within a topological hierarchy of nodes within the network. A hierarchical ring topology including a hierarchical structure of rings representing an organizational structure of nodes is computed and flattened into a single global ring divided into segments corresponding to a unique range of integers and associated with a replica set responsible for storing a key corresponding to one of the integers. A hash function is performed on a user key received from the client node, and the hashed key is looked up on the flattened global ring stored on each storage node to identify the replica set responsible for storing data corresponding to the hashed key.

Systems and methods for establishing rules for communication with a host Network activity data for communications between Host A and Host B may be collected and analyzed by a rules engine to create rules governing communications between Host A and Host B. The rules may then be loaded in a first, centralized, database, where an activity analyzer engine may analyze trends in rule growth to determine if a gateway for Host A, which will control communications to and from Host A, is ready for deployment Once it is determined that the gateway is ready for deployment, the rules may be replicated from the first, centralized database to a second, regional database associated with Host A. The gateway may be enabled based on the rule data stored in the second, regional database so that the gateway can determine if communications between Host A and Host B violate the rules

LIABILITY MANAGEMENT STRUCTURES FOR SOVEREIGNS AND RELATED METHODS
The present invention is directed to methods related to liability management structures for sovereigns, in particularly those of emerging market countries. The liability management structures disclosed herein are particularly attractive to sovereigns of emerging market countries as they provide the capability for the sovereign to lock in benefits owing to an anomaly in the pricing of foreign currency debt and local currency debt for the sovereign. A number of variations of the liability management structure for monetizing this pricing anomaly are disclosed. In one structure, the sovereign enters into a synthetic swap transaction to exchange local currency proceeds raised from issuance by the sovereign of local currency debt instruments to foreign currency in order to purchase previously issued global bonds of the sovereign. In another variation of the structure, the sovereign enters into a swap contract with a swap counterparty where the sovereign swaps local currency cash flows for foreign currency cash flows, which the sovereign uses to repurchase the global bonds of the sovereign. Also, in another variation, instead of the sovereign purchasing the global bonds, it may sell credit protection in the credit default swap market with the sovereign as the reference credit. In another variation, the sovereign may purchase a credit linked note with the sovereign as the reference credit.
One embodiment relates to an interactive user interface to navigate the financial relationships between companies. A focal company field lists a focal company identifier and a metric input field allows a User to select a focal company metric. A user uses a related company metric input field to select a related company metric. A positive correlation field lists identifiers positively correlated to the foc company metric and a negative correlation field lists identifiers negatively correlated to the focal company metric. Certain of the listed include a hyperlink which causes the identifier corresponding to the activated hyperlink to be listed as a new focal company in the focal company field, such that the positive correlation field lists identifiers positively correlated to the focal company metric of the new focal company and the negative correlation field lists identifiers negatively correlated to the focal company metric of the new focal company.
