The invention relates to the food industry. A liquid product, inter alia vodka, is treated and purified by being passed through a mixture of sorbing components enclosed between filter materials. Each portion of the product that is poured from a bottle into a drinking vessel in the period directly preceding consumption by the consumer is treated and purified. Both treatment and the preparation of a new product are carried out by forcing the liquid product from a container at an optimum speed through a cartridge containing fillers by virtue of air overpressure of the requisite amount in the inner cavity of the container, said pressure being generated as necessary by the consumer as a result of squeezing the container. Placing mineral flavouring agents and/or other additives in the cartridge chamber makes it possible for a new product, different from the one inside the container, to be obtained at the outlet of the device.
