An acoustic filter mitigates audio signal-based attacks (particularly inaudible attacks in the ultrasonic frequency range) on voice-based computing devices by modulating the signals before they reach the device's microphone. One filter is formed as a rigid body defining multiple holes that exhibit local resonance phenomena that suppress incoming audio waves at specific frequencies. The filter distorts or otherwise modifies the attack signals and thereby prevents the microphone(s) from receiving the intended attack signal, and prevents the associated computing device from processing and executing the intended malicious "command"/signal. The filter can be tuned to be operable outside the frequency range of normal spoken commands, so that typical voice-based commands are unaffected by the filter. A frame is provided to enable one or more filters to be retrofitted to existing consumer electronics devices, outside their housings. Alternatively, new consumer electronics may be manufactured to include such filters inside their housings.

METHOD FOR RECYCLING CEMENT-CONTAINING MATERIALS TO PRODUCE RECLAIMED FINES FOR USE IN CEMENT-BASED MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES
An environmentally-friendly substitute for virgin dry cement is provided. The substitute is obtained as reclaimed cementitious fines produced by recycling cement-containing waste materials, such as recycled concrete aggregate and demolished brick structures. The reclaimed cementitious fines are used as cementitious material in new concrete, mortar, cement paste and other cement-containing materials and structures. A recycling method involves obtaining cement-containing waste material, crushing the cement-containing waste material, gathering the crushed cement-containing waste materials, the crushed cement-containing waste materials comprising reclaimed particles derived from said cement-containing waste material; and sorting the crushed cement-containing waste materials by particle size to obtain reclaimed cementitious fines having sizes in a desired particle size range, e.g., 0.1 micron to 200 micron for use as a substitute for virgin dry cement powder. Notably, the crushing/tumbling methodologies used to obtain the reclaimed particles produce significantly less carbon dioxide that the methodologies used to obtain virgin dry cement.

HANDHELD PRINTER FOR ENHANCED MIXING AND DELIVERY OF MULTI-COMPONENT POLYMERS/BIOMATERIALS
A mixing injector for a multi-material printer. The injector defines coaxial passages for passing different material components into a mixing portion. The injector defines at least one opening, in a sidewall of at least one of the coaxial passages, to provide fluid communication between the passages, e.g., before/upstream from a mixing portion. Such openings permit and promote material component flow laterally, transversely to a direction of elongation of the coaxial passages, and transversely to a principal direction of flow of the material components. This is believed to create a degree of turbulence in the flow of the material components that enhances mixing of the material components, and provides for enhanced mixing of the component materials. Accordingly, for example, cross-linking may begin to occur before entering the mixing region. The injector may be structured to provide any desired number of passages and openings to provide a desired degree of mixing.

Disclosed are various approaches for estimating uncertainty in deep neural networks. A respective tensor normal distribution can be applied to each of a plurality of convolutional kernels of a convolutional neural network, wherein the respective tensor normal distribution captures a correlation and a variance heteorgeneity of each of the plurality of convolutional kernels. Then, the mean and covariance of each respective tensor normal distribution passing through the non-linear activation function of each nonlinear perceptron can be approximated. Next, a max-pool operation can be performed on a plurality of outputs of the plurality of non-linear perceptrons to generate an output tensor. Then, the output tensor can be vectorized to create an input vector for a fully-connected layer of the convolutional neural network. Subsequently, an output vector can be generated using the fully-connected layer. Then, a mean matrix and a covariance matrix for the output vector can be computed.
